Office of Human Resource Management

On the campus of SC State University here in beautiful Orangeburg, S.C. the Office of Equal Opportunity under the General Counsel's Office is seeking to hire a Title IX Coordinator/Equal Opportunity Investigator. The selected candidate will serve as the University’s Title IX Coordinator and administer the University’s Sex Discrimination and Harassment Policy (Title IX Policy) and related duties. To help, as appropriate, any other policies of the University regarding discrimination or unequal treatment.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities: 

Conduct prompt, neutral, and thorough investigations. Conduct investigations of alleged discriminatory behavior by students, faculty, and staff. Issue sanctions for violations, as appropriate. Maintain a training database and collaborate with internal and external individuals to complete Title IX investigations and adjudications. Work closely with other departments, such as the Office of Judicial Affairs, Office of Residential Life and Housing, Division of Academic Affairs, Department of Athletics, Division of Student Affairs, University Police Department, and the Office of Human Resources Management. Provide education and awareness materials to the campus community regarding Title IX and civil rights discrimination.
Perform other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least three years of appropriate experience in campus safety, educational compliance, higher education administration, or equivalent experience.
