The Center for Energy and Environmental Solutions (CEES) here at South Carolina State University is seeking an Administrative Assistant. The CEES Administrative Assistant shall be a team member who provides comprehensive support to ensure the successful operation, sustainability, and growth of the center. In this role, this person shall support the Director of CEES (and researchers) as warranted to meet various deadlines, responsibilities, and deliverables.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

•Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and events for the CEES.
•Arrange travel and accommodations for the director (and other researchers) per university guidelines (i.e., CONCUR)
•Ensure proper setup of meeting spaces and technology resources.
•Demonstrated proficiencies with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries.
•Draft and distribute memos, emails, and other communications as needed.
•Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services.
•Order, receive, and track office supplies.
•Oversee general office upkeep to maintain a professional and safe environment.
•Ensure office safety compliance with SCSU policies and procedures.
•Support the Center Director with project planning, tracking, and documentation.

Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position:

High School Diploma

Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position:

Detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, maintaining center records, and facilitating both written and verbal communication with stakeholders, researchers, and visitors.
