The Department of Career Development is seeking to hire a Student Services Coordinator II to join their team here at Beautiful SC State University.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  Provide information to students on topics that affect career opportunities and advancement such as job search strategies, educational and training opportunities, occupational outlook information, career enhancement materials, and resume writing. Conduct workshops and/or programs on career planning and placement topics. Assist students in the development of resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, and make recommendations for improvements establish external partnerships and help students explore cooperative education, internships, graduate and professional schools, government jobs, and part and full-time employment opportunities. Coordinate on-campus interviews for Perm. Jobs and internships. Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs to increase student awareness of and participation in career opportunities. Prepare reports and other statistical data as necessary. Conduct end-of-year surveys of students. Seek to increase student awareness about career opportunities by reaching the student population and documenting their achievement of learning objectives. Assist in the planning and implementation of the Career Week, Career Expo, On/Off-Campus Recruiting, Site Visits as well as other major outreach programming Serve on one University-wide committee, as well as facilitate and /or participate in at least one community service project. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: 

Bachelor of Arts or Science degree and 3 years of higher education administration experience

Preferred Requirements: 

(Career Center experience preferred). A Master’s degree in Counseling, Business, and/or higher education administration is preferred.

Special Requirements: 

Candidate must be willing and able to travel. Experience in a college or university setting.  Candidate must have presentation skills and be computer literate (Software: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).  Additionally, employees must establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; plan, organize and coordinate CDC events. The ability to follow professional protocol, exhibit sound judgment, and foster a wholesome work environment is a must
