The Department of Engineering Technology at South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina invites applications or nominations for a full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program. This is a 4-year degree program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology. The program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) of ABET responsibilities.

Responsibilities: Some of the courses the successful candidate will be expected to teach include but are not limited to statistics, Strength and Materials, Dynamics, Special Topics, Kinematics and Machine Design, Introduction to Engineering Technology, Engineering computing, Technical Communications, and more. Other duties include Student advisement, committee assignment, performing research, and other scholarly activities through the solicitation of externally funded grants in support of the mission of the University.

Qualifications: B.S. and M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related area is required, Ph.D. preferred. Three years of relevant industrial experience obtained preferably in a U.S. firm. Candidate must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of ETAC of the ABET accreditation process is a plus.
