Assistant Athletic Director for Media & Gameday Coordination Administration – Orangeburg, SC
1. Media Relations: • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets, including newspapers, radio stations, television networks, and online platforms. • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, interview requests, and press releases related to athletic events, programs, and initiatives. • Proactively pitch story ideas and generate media coverage to promote our athletic teams, student-athletes, coaches, and departmental achievements. • Monitor media coverage and sentiment, while providing regular reports to leadership. • Assisting with in-game statistics. 2. Content Creation: • Create compelling written, visual, and multimedia content to engage fans, alumni, recruits, and stakeholders across various digital and traditional platforms. • Oversee the production of promotional materials, including press kits, game programs, social media graphics, and video highlights, ensuring brand consistency and alignment with departmental objectives. 3. Social Media Management: • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to grow our presence, increase engagement, and drive traffic to our digital channels. • Manage official social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, posting regular updates, responding to comments, and monitoring trends. • Utilize analytics tools to track key performance metrics, evaluate the effectiveness of social media campaigns, and optimize content for maximum reach and impact. 4. Gameday Coordination: • Coordinate all aspects of gameday operations, including pre-game activities, halftime entertainment, in-game promotions, and post-game ceremonies, to create an unforgettable fan experience. • Oversite of the game day table and statistics for games. • Liaise with stadium/venue staff, vendors, sponsors, and broadcast partners to ensure seamless execution of logistics, facility setup, and technical requirements.

The selected candidate will serve as the worksite representative for dealings with contractors, campus end users, the Office of State Engineer, and inspectors. The construction manager will ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and codes and will provide progress updates to appropriate management channels regularly. Description of Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate and assess existing building conditions within the Agency to assist in the prioritization, budgeting, and scheduling of upcoming capital projects.  Prioritizes and develops a Comprehensive Permanent Improvement Plan (CPIP) and is responsible for quality, schedule, and cost control. Manages project budgets, and approves payments to contractors and designers. Coordinates internal engineering review of schematic designs and construction drawings provided by outside consultants for conformance with operational needs and local, state, and federal codes and professional standards. Represents the University’s interests at construction progress meetings, conferences, and inspections. Reviews, negotiates, and approves change orders during construction as appropriate. Conducts final inspections along with designers, and recommends acceptance for occupancy. Conducts post-occupancy evaluations and resolves issues through warranty considerations. Provides comprehensive guidance to customers in the procurement of professional design services and construction services as expeditiously as possible, in a manner best suited to their needs, and full compliance with the Consolidated Procurement Code. Monitors state projects during construction to ensure the work complies with the building codes by reviewing inspection reports submitted by inspectors for notations of deficiencies and corrective action taken on deficiencies. Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position: A bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or Architecture with related experience. Five or more years of experience in managing new construction and remodeling projects.
