The Visual Arts Program in the Department of Visual & Performing Arts at South Carolina State University seeks a full-time, tenure-track,  Assistant Professor of Music -Music Industry. Description of Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Teaching, creative work, and service to the department, school, and university community.
• Teaching responsibilities include courses in music technology, commercial composition/arranging, recording studio techniques, and supervision of the required internship program.
• Other courses assigned by the department may include performance instruction, aural skills, or classes depending on the candidate's qualifications and needs of the department

Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position: 

• Master’s degree in music; significant professional experience working in commercial music; commitment to excellence in teaching.

Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position: 

Expert knowledge in commercial music pedagogy from a producer, composer, or performer perspective.
• Expertise with commercial music and studio software platforms.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving
