The College of Business Information Systems at SC State University seeks an Administrative Assistant (Dean's Office Coordinator) and invites applicants interested in contributing to a caring, committed, and collaborative professional environment that promotes excellence among young people aspiring to greatness. The anticipated candidate should be a professional, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual ready to support a well-established and highly recognized AACSB college as it continues to grow and further enhance its regional, national, and international reputation. The CBIS is working towards establishing a DBA Program, in addition to its successful undergraduate and MBA programs. 

With approximately 3,000 students, SCSU has the Land-grant status of a relatively small but premier HBCU in the South. CBIS strives to improve outcomes for all students. The AACSB-accredited CBIS provides a highly engaged learning experience for approximately 600 undergraduates and graduate students and is deeply committed to building and sustaining inclusive and equitable working and learning environments for all our students, staff, and faculty.

Minimum Qualifications for Entry into Position: 

Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in responsible administrative, executive office, or related professional roles.

Preferred Qualifications for Entry into Position:  

Master's degree and five years of experience in higher education administration, executive support for a Dean or Operations Director, or a related field.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Serve as the principal administrative and operational support professional to the CBIS Dean, ensuring the efficient and effective management of the Office of the Dean.

2. Manage the Dean's complex calendar, appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, and scheduling priorities.

3. Act as a trusted liaison between the Dean and internal and external constituents, including Advisory Board members, faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors, elected officials, and community leaders.

4. Screen and prioritize communications, correspondence, visitors, and requests for presidential engagement.

5. Draft, edit, proofread, and coordinate executive correspondence, reports, presentations, speeches, memoranda, and strategic communications.

6. Maintain highly confidential records, files, and information with discretion and professionalism.

7. Coordinate all arrangements, materials, logistics, and communications related to Board of Trustees meetings and committees as assigned.

8. Take and transcribe minutes of Faculty meetings and other CBIS meetings as directed by the Dean.

9. Coordinate Dean events, donor meetings, community engagements, CBIS events, and other student-related ceremonies.

10. Compile data and prepare briefings and background materials to support the Dean's decision-making.
