The Department of Human Services at South Carolina State University is hiring for an Assistant Professor in the Rehabilitation Counseling Program. The selected candidate will provide instruction in the Rehabilitation Counseling program and other core counseling courses for Master’s degree counseling students. This position is a 9-month Tenure-Track Position.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary duties and responsibilities include teaching graduate-level courses in Rehabilitation Counseling and core counseling areas, providing academic advisement, internship and practicum supervision, and service to the department, college, and university committees.
  • The successful candidate must: articulate and pursue a pertinent research agenda that produces manuscript publications in top-tier professional journals with high-impact factors in the discipline area,
  • procure external funding from outside sources that support the research agenda,
  • facilitate presentations at well-respected international and national conferences or meetings.

Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position:

  • Doctorate in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counselor Education, or related counseling degree from a CACREP-accredited program.
  • Teaching experience in rehabilitation counseling or counselor education courses is required.

Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position: 

  • Experience in rehabilitation and mental health counseling, master’s level teaching experience in a CACREP accredited counselor education program, clinical supervision, and a demonstrated record of scholarly activity through scholarly publications, presentations, and grantsmanship are required.
  • License or license eligible in South Carolina and familiarity with CACREP accreditation expectations is preferred.
  • Experience in online curriculum development and instruction is desired. "

 

Salary and rank for this position will be determined by the applicant’s qualifications and professional experience.
