Director of Transportation in Administration – Orangeburg, SC
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Oversees the delivery of all private, state, and federal grant requirements. • Implements organizational technology (such as web-based project management software) to facilitate collaboration among all researchers, students, and industry partners. • Manages design and implementation of data collection to meet agency requirements (including non-engineering data such as diversity measures). • Manages non-technical project schedules, incorporates and tracks technical project schedules developed by researchers and institutional leads. • Manages non-technical project budgets in cooperation with financial manager and reports to Director. • Seeks commitments from existing industrial partners and DOT partners for research and education financial match funding, and to host undergraduate and graduate student research interns over the summer. • Forms partnerships with other regional and national UTCs in cooperation with Technical Leads to carry on research and technology transfer projects. • Plans and executes a JECUTC annual conference. • Work with the Academic Program Coordinator of the Master of Science Degree in Transportation to Teach graduate level course(s) when possible

The applicant should possess a strong background in Fire Protection Engineering. The faculty member appointed to this position will be responsible for teaching a comprehensive range of core undergraduate courses in Fire Protection Engineering. These courses may include Life Safety Analysis (Introduction and Advanced), Fire Protection Fluid Mechanics, Smoke Management and Fire Alarm Systems, Water-Based Fire Protection System Design, Structural Fire Protection, Advanced Fire Suppression, Fire Dynamics, Fire-Informed Performance-Based Design, Fire Assessment Methods Lab and Proposal, as well as Fire Assessment Methods and Capstone. Furthermore, the applicant will contribute to the development of laboratories for this new concentration within the civil engineering curriculum. Additionally, the applicant may be required to assist the engineering department in offering basic engineering courses including but not limited to statics, land surveying, strength of materials, CAD drawing, and engineering ethics. The applicate is charged with the duty of supporting and maintaining the Banner Oracle database and performing various updates. This is a senior-level role that designs and supports database management systems (DBMS) of medium complexity and assists in designing and supporting DBMS of high complexity. Consult with users, other administrative staff and vendors on the development, modifications and updating of new and exiting Oracle tables and modification. Perform periodically tuning and performance management test on the Database. Assist in the development of all in house applications to ensure that the development process adhere to proper logic in the banner platform. Track all changes ( modification, Updates) to the University's Banner Database systems. Providing in writing a monthly report of all work related activities which falls outside of the routine work assignments.

Climate-Smart Project Director in Administration – Orangeburg, SC
• Oversee the operations and management of the Climate-Smart Project. • Assist the Principal Investigator and the Project Implementation Team in designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, reporting, and disseminating all aspects of the Project to its various publics. • Serve as a key advisor/resource to the 1890 Executive Team and University leadership. • Prepare project information to be used by the PI, Co-PIs, Office of Sponsored Research, Grants/Compliance, University leadership, Board of Trustees, and external entities. • Supervise project management team, postdocs, research technicians, extension agents, University staff, and off-campus implementing partners. • Schedule project meetings, conferences, and workshops for project participants, delivery of technical training, and reports on the Scope of Work. • Capable of communicating effectively in public settings, both orally and in writing. Ability to facilitate and coordinate the development, reporting, and dissemination of Impact Statements, Success Stories, Contact Hours, etc. • Ability to prepare, write, proofread, edit, format, and submit project correspondences such as progress reports, quarterly and annual reports, and other documents. • Ability to collect and decipher information to prepare written reports. • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and understandings. • Ability to establish and develop good relationships with staff, administrators, other institutions, organizations, etc. to prepare, implement, and accomplish successful project delivery. • Assist in interpreting, preparing, and monitoring the Plan of Work reporting regulations and requirements statewide for 1890 Research and Extension and disseminate (qualitative and quantitative) information to appropriate sources upon approval.
