     Develops and runs an efficient Records Management System to meet accreditation standards for easy storage and retrieval of records.  Coordinates and manages activities for initial and continuous maintenance of documents classified as student records with archival value.  Develops records retention schedules for management and disposition of records to ensure security throughout the transfer and elimination of documents.  Provides necessary training and continual guidance for processing, storage, and retrieval of files from an imaging system.  Analyzes, assesses, and makes recommendations of needs to provide adequate technical support for imaging and managing academic record files.  Assist with evaluation of records retention policies to ensure compliance with SC Department of Archives.   • Executive Director of Minority Teacher Recruitment and Retention in Administration – Orangeburg, SC

    Provide Leadership in the continued and implementation of a statewide minority teacher recruitment/retention program, specifically through the overseership of the EIA Minority Teacher Recruitment Program and the African American Teacher Loan Program. To develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract academically capable traditional and non-traditional minority students to the teaching profession and to undergraduate programs in teacher education curricula at SC State University. To manage the programs budget and fiscal responsibilty for monitoring expenditures of the EIA Forgivable Loan and African American Forgivable Loan Programs. To administer the African American and EIA Forgivable Loan Programs and track the academic progress of program forgivable loan programs and track the academic progress and program forgivable loan recipients. Write legislative reports and make presentations before/to standing committee of the S.C House and Senate ( as requested by the S.C General Assembly and prepares annual reports (as mandated by the S.C General Assembly for submission to the S.C. Commission of Higher Education and the S.C. Education Oversight, the programs monitoring agencies. Promote teaching as a career choice and the SC State University Minority Teacher Recruitment Program by attending discipline- specific meetings and conference related to education and the tutorial components of the Program and by presenting and/or attending state, regional and national conference of minority teacher recruitment and retention issues. Fulfill faculty responsibilities by participating in advisement (forgivable loan recipients), scholarly and professional development activities, university and community service, assignments from the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs. Conduct annual performance evaluations of the program, its personnel and submit results to the appropriate University and State Offices.

The position, at times, will advise students, prospective students and parents concerning available scholarship and other forms of aid and the application process.
