South Carolina State University seeks a dedicated Tenure Track Faculty Position as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science/Cybersecurity- Research Scientist to join our Col Science/Math & Engineering Tech team. This research-focused position offers the chance to advance cybersecurity knowledge while mentoring the next generation of technology leaders.

What You'll Do

Conduct cutting-edge research in cybersecurity, network security, or related computer science fields
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and cybersecurity
Mentor students in research projects and academic development
Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary research initiatives
Seek external funding through grants and partnerships
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
Contribute to curriculum development and program enhancement

What We're Looking For

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or closely related field
Strong research background with publications in cybersecurity or computer science
Experience or demonstrated interest in teaching at the university level
Knowledge of current cybersecurity threats, defense mechanisms, and industry practices
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment

The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at South Carolina State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. We are seeking candidates with expertise in core Computing areas, such as AI/ML algorithms and theory, IOT, Quantum Computing, and High-Performance Computing. The successful candidates will be part of our NSA designated National Center of Academic Excellence (NCAE-C). They will be required to teach at least one undergraduate/graduate course (25% of an FTE) as a faculty member in the department of Computer Science and Mathematics. In this exciting role, the successful candidate will spend approximately 75%-time conducting research the NCAE-C in the areas of Computing such as High-Performance Computing, Quantum Computing, Block Chain, Cloud Computing, Computer Networks, Software Engineering, and AI.
