The Child Development Learning Center at South Carolina State University is hiring for a Preschool Teacher. The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences welcomes qualified applicants to apply for this meaningful and rewarding role at the university.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and present lessons, activities, and materials that are appropriate for 4-year-old children. 

Assist children at mealtime, with toileting, and other personal habits. 

Maintain an attractive and well-organized classroom. 

Organize and monitor outdoor classroom activities. 

Develop teacher-made materials, and create and keep bulletin boards current. 

Maintain records and report children's progress to parents. 

Maintain classroom decorum. Communicate and monitor classroom procedures.

Demonstrate ethical and professional principles. 

Attend parent­ teacher meetings, graduation, and other events as requested by the Director. 

Perform duties assigned by the Director, Department Chairperson, Dean, and/or President of SC State University.

Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position:

Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education

Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position:

Successfully pass FBI and SLED Background Check. Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education with one year of experience in an NAEYC-accredited program.
