SC State University’s Campus Police Department in Orangeburg, SC, is accepting applications for a Dispather (Communications Specialist III) in the Campus Police Department.

 Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform the duties of a communication specialist/dispatcher. Operate SLED/NCIC computer, to include receiving and transmitting calls for services with clarity, accuracy, and precision. Performs record checks as requested by officers. Remain vigilant of officers' response to calls for services. Promptly provide needed information to officers. Function effectively during emergencies and periods of heavy communication traffic. Understand and follow instructions. Speak clearly and concisely. Communicate information accurately and unambiguously. Maintain accurate and complete daily call log

 

Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position:

High school diploma. Must be physically qualified, have no criminal record; Must pass a background investigation; Must have a valid driver’s license.
