In this exciting role, the successful candidate will spend approximately 75%-time conducting research in areas not limited to:
• Advanced Oxidation Processes.
• Catalytic Remediation.
• Chemical Treatments.
• Environmental Analytical Methods.
• Inorganic Pollutants.
• Organic Pollutants.
• Separation Technologies
In addition, the successful candidate will be required to teach at least one course (25% of an FTE) as a faculty member in the department of Biological and Physical sciences and 75% of time devoted to conducting research in the CEES.
Also, he/she will:
• Identify and develop new research areas and proposals and secure funding.
• Develop methods/models to collect environmental samples from different media (air, soil, water, materials, etc.).
• Develop methods and optimize data collection and analysis using analytical methods such as gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), proton transfer reaction mass spectrometry (PTRMS), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC); develop new methods and codes for data collection and analysis.
• Actively works to build a network of contacts and collaborators within their area of research and at funding agencies.
• Presents findings at seminars and/or conferences.
• Reports regularly on research progress to funders. |
Assistant Athletic Director for Media & Gameday Coordination

1. Media Relations:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets, including newspapers, radio stations, television networks, and online platforms.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, interview requests, and press releases related to athletic events, programs, and initiatives.
• Proactively pitch story ideas and generate media coverage to promote our athletic teams, student-athletes, coaches, and departmental achievements.
• Monitor media coverage and sentiment, while providing regular reports to leadership.
• Assisting with in-game statistics.
2. Content Creation:
• Create compelling written, visual, and multimedia content to engage fans, alumni, recruits, and stakeholders across various digital and traditional platforms.
• Oversee the production of promotional materials, including press kits, game programs, social media graphics, and video highlights, ensuring brand consistency and alignment with departmental objectives.
3. Social Media Management:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to grow our presence, increase engagement, and drive traffic to our digital channels.
• Manage official social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, posting regular updates, responding to comments, and monitoring trends.
• Utilize analytics tools to track key performance metrics, evaluate the effectiveness of social media campaigns, and optimize content for maximum reach and impact.
4. Gameday Coordination:
• Coordinate all aspects of gameday operations, including pre-game activities, halftime entertainment, in-game promotions, and post-game ceremonies, to create an unforgettable fan experience.
• Oversite of the game day table and statistics for games.
• Liaise with stadium/venue staff, vendors, sponsors, and broadcast partners to ensure seamless execution of logistics, facility setup, and technical requirements. |
Assistant Professor of Science Education-Tenure Track

The Assistant Professor will teach, conduct research, and contribute service. They will collaborate and assist in the facilitation and co-evaluation of teacher candidates in clinical field experiences. The faculty member must hold, and promote, high expectations for students and self. They must collaborate well with colleagues at SCSU and in the discipline, communicating effectively with stakeholders including school partners and administration. The faculty member must work closely with other university faculty in education and across multiple content areas and several on-campus departments to ensure program quality, while providing high quality feedback, instruction, and assessment practices steeped in current research-based, effective teaching practices. The faculty member will ensure superior clinical experiences are provided to teacher candidates and work well with school partners and PK-12 teachers to develop mutually co-beneficial, strategic partnerships to grow teacher candidate practicum opportunities. The faculty member must demonstrate an appreciation and promotion of diversity as a commitment to the School of Education and South Carolina State University and support state and national accreditation initiatives. |
