The Visual Arts Program in the Department of Visual & Performing Arts at South Carolina State University seeks a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate courses in Digital Media with proficiency in Animation/Motion Graphics, Digital Video, Print Media, New Media, Web Page Design, and Typography. In addition, the ideal candidate should possess the ability and desire to manage and advance the Digital Media area and its curricula offerings as it relates to the. goals of the Visual Arts Program. other responsibilities include managing/overseeing the Digital Media Mac lab, its corresponding computer hardware, and software, and the work-study students/lab monitors as. well as working with the studio technician on any necessary maintenance. Teaching responsibilities may include but are not limited to art foundation courses, and/or art appreciation. The successful candidate will teach three to four courses each semester; actively participate within the Visual Arts Program unit and advise students. Other responsibilities include Departmental, School/College, and/or University committee services. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential. |

Provide assistance in the planning, coordination and/or performance of standard management support service activities for department. Actively participate in such function as fiscal, personnel, procurement, data or supply functions. Help manage limited audits to ensure compliance with regulations governing employee leave and legal holds. |
Electronic Resources Librarian

1) communicating regularly with external service providers, such as publishers, database vendors, consortia, content providers, and technology suppliers; 2) serving as liaison to the IT department and database vendors to manage proxy server access, and configuration; 3) coordinating timely investigations and resolution of databases and related electronic resources access problems; 4) assisting with electronic resources license agreements and renewal management; 5) investigating, evaluating, and recommending new and emerging technologies that will improve or expand services and access to library resources; and 6) providing database usage statistics, ensuring current database access, and related electronic resources needs. |
