Director of Advancement Services & Operations Administration – Orangeburg, SC
The Director of Advancement Services & Operations is responsible for overseeing the infrastructure and operational support for South Carolina State University’s fundraising and donor engagement activities. This role provides leadership in gift processing, data management, donor stewardship, prospect research, and reporting to ensure the effectiveness and accountability of the university’s Institutional Advancement efforts. The Director will develop and implement best practices for donor recognition, data integrity, and financial reconciliation while working closely with development officers, finance teams, and university leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in advancement services, stewardship, and fundraising operations.
Assistant Professor of Mathematics Administration – Orangeburg, SC
The successful candidate is primarily responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses, conducting research, and contributing to the department and university through service. This includes developing curriculum, mentoring students, and participating in committees. Other duties include Student advisement, committee assignments, research, and other scholarly activities, as well as soliciting externally funded grants to support the University's mission. Effective teaching, scholarly productivity (as evidenced by funded research and publications), and service to the University are essential for retention, promotion, and tenure.
AI/ML/ Data Scientist- Research Scientist Administration – Orangeburg, SC
We are seeking candidates with expertise in core AI areas, such as AI/ML algorithms and theory, IOT, Quantum Computing, and High-Performance Computing. The successful candidates will be part of our NSA designated National Center of Academic Excellence (NCAE-C). They will be required to teach at least one undergraduate/graduate course (25% of an FTE) as a faculty member in the department of Computer Science and Mathematics. The successful candidates may be asked to teach one additional course if needed. They will devote 75% of their time to conducting research in the NCAE-C.
Assistant Professor of Sociology Administration – Orangeburg, SC
The incumbent should be able to teach Introduction to Sociology; Sociological Theory; Sociological Methods: Senior Seminar; and at least two of the following: Rural Sociology; Qualitative Methods/Statistics; Medical Sociology; Human Sexuality; or Gerontology. Command of English and the ability to interact successfully with students from diverse backgrounds is required. Teaching load is four classes a semester. They would also be required to advise students and serve on various committees.
STUDENT SERVICES COORDINATOR II Administration – Orangeburg, SC
Student Center Operations (60%) • Oversee the daily operation of the Student Center, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all users. • Supervise student employees and/or graduate assistants responsible for information desks, event setups, and general facility oversight. • Coordinate event support for internal and external groups utilizing the Student Center, including setup logistics, equipment needs, and troubleshooting. • Serve as a liaison to facilities, custodial, and campus safety staff regarding maintenance, security, and scheduling. • Manage scheduling and reservation systems, ensuring accurate and timely communication with campus partners. • Contribute to long-term planning for the Student Center including assessments, facility improvements, and policy development. • Ensure compliance with fire codes, ADA regulations, and institutional policies related to event and facility usage. Campus Activities Board Co-Advisor (30%) • Co-advise the Campus Activities Board in the planning, marketing, and execution of student-led progra• Support student leaders in the development of leadership, teamwork, event planning, and fiscal management skills. • Attend weekly CAB meetings, committee meetings, and major programs (some evening and weekend work required). • Assist in the assessment and evaluation of CAB programs to ensure alignment with institutional goals and student interests. • Foster inclusive programming that engages a diverse student body and promotes campus unity. Other Duties (10%) • Serve on departmental and campus-wide committees related to student engagement, facilities, or student affairs. • Assist with major campus events, including orientation, homecoming, and commencement, as needed. • Stay current on best practices in student center operations and student programming. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Center & Campus Engagement.
