Description of Duties and Responsibilities
• Order, process, and track library funds spent on books and materials. • Contact vendors to verify the status of ordered materials; generate and maintain status and receipt reports. • Verify incoming book shipments against invoices; maintain accurate records of all acquisitions. • Resolve routine issues with technical procedures in the acquisitions and cataloging workflow. • Perform pre-order bibliographic searching in GOBI/YBP Market Place, ExLibris Alma, and OCLC to avoid duplication in the library's collection. • Communicate acquisition status updates to Reference and Information Specialists and other staff as needed. • Assist the coordinator with cataloging, spine labeling, and processing of materials for the general collection, including serials and continuation titles. • Participate in special projects within the Technical Services Department. • Compile and maintain statistical data and reports related to cataloging and acquisitions activities. • Assist with drafting correspondence for gift book donations. • Supervise and train student assistants, interns, and other student workers; prepare and submit timesheets as required. • Participate in library and university workshops, conferences, and professional development opportunities. • Serve on library and university-wide committees. • Perform other related duties and assignments as directed.

Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position
• High school diploma or equivalent. • At least two (2) years of library-related experience or training, including filing and clerical tasks. • Basic knowledge of computer operations

Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position
• Associate degree preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard office technologies. • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in work. • Ability to plan, organize, and complete tasks with minimal supervision. • Ability to supervise and train others. • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills. • Working knowledge of technical services procedures, including acquisitions, cataloging, and processing. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Positive and professional demeanor when interacting with library staff, university personnel, and the public. • Willingness and ability to learn all aspects of the role.
