Description of Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Director is responsible for overseeing the admission and monitoring of students into the Department of Education and the 17 undergraduate content areas of the Teacher Education Department.
  • Responsible for overseeing the monitoring and completion of Stage 1 in the Matriculation Process including PRAXIS CORE and PRAXIS II referrals to enhance the competence of students committed to becoming a certified teacher.
  • Oversee Referral and Placement Service provide an opportunity for students to be retained within the department through early assessment, monitoring, class performance, test results, and advisement.
  • Oversee the evaluation and monitoring of student folders by the CARE Center to comply with all the required State and CAEP standards and the Department of Education Matriculation Process.
  • Coordinate with the Office of Clinical Experience in gathering, maintaining, and disseminating data during preparation for CAEP Accreditation visits.
  • Teach courses based on academic background and preparation.
    Supervisory Responsibilities: Will supervise staff members in the accomplishment of the essential functions of the primary duties.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Masters' degree in a content area of the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences.
Experience: Evidence of successful PK-12 teaching experience required.
Skills: Successful applicants will be collaborative, kind, thoughtful, driven and student-focused practitioners with deep content and practical knowledge in the field of education.
