Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering Administration – Orangeburg, SC
The applicant should possess a strong background in Fire Protection Engineering. The faculty member appointed to this position will be responsible for teaching a comprehensive range of core undergraduate courses in Fire Protection Engineering. These courses may include Life Safety Analysis (Introduction and Advanced), Fire Protection Fluid Mechanics, Smoke Management and Fire Alarm Systems, Water-Based Fire Protection System Design, Structural Fire Protection, Advanced Fire Suppression, Fire Dynamics, Fire-Informed Performance-Based Design, Fire Assessment Methods Lab and Proposal, as well as Fire Assessment Methods and Capstone. Furthermore, the applicant will contribute to the development of laboratories for this new concentration within the civil engineering curriculum. Additionally, the applicant may be required to assist the engineering department in offering basic engineering courses including but not limited to statics, land surveying, strength of materials, CAD drawing, and engineering ethics. Effective teaching, scholarly activities, and service to the University are required for retention, promotion, and tenure

The Department of Engineering Technology at South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina, invites applications or nominations for a permanent position at the rank of Laboratory Specialist II in the department. The department offers B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology and Industrial Technology. Assist faculty in developing and supervising lab exercises for students; install, maintain and repair lab equipment including computer hardware and software; write specifications and requisitions for the purchase of lab supplies and equipment including computers; adjust, calibrate and operate lab equipment.
Executive Director for the James E. Clyburn University Transportation Center Administration – Orangeburg, SC
o Oversees the delivery of all private, state, and federal grant requirements. o Implements organizational technology (such as web-based project management software) to facilitate collaboration among all researchers, students, and industry partners. o Manages design and implementation of data collection to meet agency requirements (including non-engineering data such as diversity measures). o Manages non-technical project schedules, and incorporates and tracks technical project schedules developed by researchers and institutional leads.
