Physical Education Associate Professor Administration – Orangeburg, SC
The Department of Health Sciences at South Carolina State University is hiring a Physical Education Assistant or Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance; Health and Physical Education (HPE); Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER); Kinesiology; Physical Education Professor (PE). Description of Duties and Responsibilities:  The selected candidate will teach courses, mentor/advise undergraduate students and engage in and develop quality community-centered research.  It is the responsibility of the professor to prepare a syllabus that aligns with a chosen textbook, advise students as needed for their required curriculum and serve on departmental/university research committees.  Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position: The Health Sciences department welcome candidates with an earned doctorate in physical education, adapted physical education or related fields (human performance, health and physical education, recreation, kinesiology). Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position: For most teaching disciplines, applicants must hold a Master's degree or higher in the discipline advertised, or a Master's degree or higher in any discipline plus 18 graduate semester hours or 30 graduate semester hours
Student Services Coordinator II (Financial Aid Counselor) Administration – Orangeburg, SC
• Consult with Director and/or Associate Director(s) when issues require further review to consider options that will effectively and satisfactory meet customer needs within University policy. • Conduct individual counseling sessions for students and/ or parents either by appointment, phone, or walk-ins. • Review and make written decisions on cases such as SAP, Independency Appeals and Change of Circumstance, etc. • Represent the office in outreach events. • Award financial aid according to program regulations (may include LIFE, HOPE, Loans, FAFSA awarding, Work Study, R2T4, over awards, Electronic Funds Transfers, Scholarships). • Responsible for reconciling program processes for functional unit (may include LIFE, HOPE, Loans, Pell awarding, Work Study, R2T4, Over awards, Electronic Funds Transfers, Scholarships). • Work with campus partners to coordinate the tracking, awarding, and disbursing of internal scholarship funds. • Counsel students and parents regarding all aspects of financial services operations, methods, and policies and procedures to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financing of student educational expenses. • Provides consumer information related to program responsibilities and presents information to prospective students in person and at orientation sessions. • Certify applications for loans and external scholarships. • Review aid applications for accuracy and verify application information with supporting documentation. • Responsible for staying abreast of Financial Aid Policies and Procedures. Environmental Engineer Administration – Orangeburg, SC
In this exciting role, the successful candidate will spend approximately 75%-time conducting research in areas not limited to: • Advanced Oxidation Processes. • Catalytic Remediation. • Chemical Treatments. • Environmental Analytical Methods. • Inorganic Pollutants. • Organic Pollutants. • Separation Technologies In addition, the successful candidate will be required to teach at least one course (25% of an FTE) as a faculty member in the department of Biological and Physical sciences and 75% of time devoted to conducting research in the CEES. • Identify and develop new research areas and proposals and secure funding. • Develop methods/models to collect environmental samples from different media (air, soil, water, materials, etc.). • Develop methods and optimize data collection and analysis using analytical methods such as gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), proton transfer reaction mass spectrometry (PTRMS), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC); develop new methods and codes for data collection and analysis. • Actively works to build a network of contacts and collaborators within their area of research and at funding agencies. • Presents findings at seminars and/or conferences. • Reports regularly on research progress to funders.
Enrollment Specialist (Graduate School Recruiter) Administration – Orangeburg, SC
This position is a pivotal role in the daily operations of our graduate academic programs. The Graduate School Recruiter and Enrollment Specialist will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, and participating in recruitment activities and events. The Graduate School Recruiter and Enrollment Specialist will coordinate outreach to prospective students, communities, educational partners, and must be able to provide informational sessions. They will guide and monitor prospective students through the enrollment portal process and respond to general inquiries regarding academic programs admission requirements and student support services. Provide administrative support to students, faculty, and departmental staff and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Candidate must monitor the management of graduate school electronic systems, processes, and procedures as directed. The candidate must be able to adhere to university policies and procedures. This position may require overnight travel to attend recruitment meetings, meetings, and conferences.
